Does physio really work?

Does physio really workDoes physio really work?

A question I get asked before many patients book for the first time is “Does physio really work?” The simplest answer is “Yes”. Obviously the degree to which it works depends on a number of factors.

When physio works really well

At its best physiotherapy answers the question “Does physio really work?” with something akin to magic.  A stiff joint can be so painful that it is all consuming but within 20 minutes the pain has almost gone and movement has returned to normal.  A similar effect can be achieved with tight, overactive muscles which can also be amazingly painful.  This option isn’t always available but if it is a low risk option it will be the first which Pure Physio discusses with you

What is the worst that physio doesn’t work

It is incredibly rare that physio cannot reduce somebodies symptoms, however, occasionally the diagnosis falls outside of the problems physiotherapy can fix.  If that is the case John at Pure Physio has over 20 years experience and he will be able to refer you to the best person available to address your problem with succinct, effective communication to both you and other professionals.
